Mike Ferguson, Managing Director
As the founding Director Mike has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Mike’s main role as Managing Director is to steer the company in the right direction through clarity of vision and incisive policy decisions linked to sound financial management. Mike particularly enjoys developing connections with fellow professionals such as Accountants & Lawyers. In any spare time Mike enjoys the sport of curling still competing in local, regional and national competitions. Mike is married to Sandra with 3 grown up children, two grandchildren and a lively working cocker spaniel.
Ken Ferguson, Director & Senior IFA
Ken has been a Director of the company since 1989 during which time has successfully built up strong relationships with his large client base. In addition to actively advising clients Ken manages the Ferguson Oliver team of advisers and specialises in the Wealth Management aspects of our business. Ken is married to Lynn with 2 grown up children, two grandchildren, a friendly American cocker spaniel and a lively cockerpoodle. Ken is a lifelong Brechin City FC fan who has risen to the grand and responsible position of Chairman of the club. Ken also sits on the SPFL board.
Martin Mayo, Independent Financial Adviser.
Martin has been with the company since 2000 and is a key adviser looking after several important client relationships such as the Angus Council Employee’s Advisory Scheme. Martin conducts business in all aspects of Financial Planning including Mortgage related advice. Martin has one son and in his spare time enjoys nothing better than a round or two of golf.
Joni Hill, Specialist Mortgage & Protection Adviser
Joni has recently joined the company to help develop Ferguson Oliver Mortgages. With many years experience working for National Banks and Brokers Joni understands the importance of face to face advice when advising on what is for many clients one of the biggest financial decisions they will make in their lives. Joni is married with a young family and enjoys keeping fit and socialising.
Karen Addison, PA to the Managing Director
More an Office Manager than a PA Karen has responsibility for the smooth running of the office and office systems having been with the company since 2005. Karen has tremendous knowledge of both the industry and our clients’ requirements. Attending the Gym in her past time Karen enjoys keeping fit, Music and socialising.
Lorna Thomson, Senior Client Support.
Lorna is on first name terms with most of our clients having been with the company since 1988. Lorna’s primary role is to maintain our client back office system and provide our clients with the information they require when they want it. Married with 2 grown up children Lorna loves her holidays to exotic venues.
Laura Walker, Senior Para-Planner.
Laura has recently returned to the company after a period off on maternity leave following the birth of her second child. Laura works part-time keeping our client reports up to date, accurate and well researched. With para-planning an ever increasingly important aspect of our industry Laura is kept busy keeping up to date with all the legislative and regulatory changes that might, or might not, effect clients financial planning. Any time out of work is taken up looking after the family or socialising with friends.
Chris Zarembski, New Business Support.
Chris joined Ferguson Oliver after a successful career with a number of National companies including Scottish Mutual and Royal Life. Chris uses his vast industry knowledge to great effect ensuring our clients business is processed in an efficient and timely manner. Away from the office Chris like Lorna enjoys his holidays and following his team Dundee United FC. Married to Liz with 2 grown up boys gardening is another one of Chris’s passions.
Bill Balfour, Para-Planning
Bill joined Ferguson Oliver in 2013 after a career as an IFA. Bill and Laura work as a team to produce quality and accurate client reports at the critical time when clients are deciding upon agreed actions. Bill enjoys supporting Brechin City FC and watching all sports.
Donna Porter, Client Support
Donna supports all client administrative activities particularly with regard to informing our wealth management clients and maintaining a close relationships with BIM our equip portfolio managers.
Chantelle Sweeney, Client Support
Chantelle mans our front desk welcoming customers with a friendly smile and efficient communications. Chantelle assists the client support team preparing portfolio valuation and reports. When out of the office Chantelle enjoys driving, keep fit, socialising and spending time with her family & friends.
Lynn Kerr, Client Support
Lynn recently returned to the company having previously looked after our insurance clients. With time away to raise her family of one son and one daughter Lynn has returned to help us service our ever expanding client base through new and innovative service propositions. When times allows after family and work Lynn enjoy keeping fit and socialising.
